Spring MAP Testing

Start:
June 1, 2021
End:
June 3, 2021
Dear Great Oak Families, Your child will be participating in MAP testing during the week of June 1, 2021. Please see the dates specified at the bottom of this email. MAP stands for Measures of Academic Progress, and it is a universal screener. The students take MAP for both Reading and Math in grades 6-11. We understand that taking this test in a remote setting is not ideal, however this is a state mandate that we must follow. The data is used to provide teachers with a benchmark of students’ current skills, so they can tailor their instruction to meet their students’ needs and challenge students to next steps. This data is also used to identify students who may need additional academic interventions (or RTI) to meet grade level benchmarks. The MAP score does not impact a student’s grade or classroom opportunities in any way. Teachers will be on the other side of the screen walking students through the process. We will have staff members from our technology team to help any family that has difficulty accessing the test. We are asking that students use their school issued Chromebook, and the Chromebook should be plugged in or fully charged. If you have any problems logging into MAP or accessing the assessment, please email [email protected] Students will be asked to log in promptly at 9 AM. Being that this test is computer adaptive, students will finish at different times. As soon as a student has completed the test, they can submit their test and then follow their teacher’s directions.
