MESSAGE TO GREAT OAKS FAMILIES:
Great Oaks Community,
To maintain a leadership position in COVID safety and readiness, we have decided to dismiss all scholars at 1pm on Friday, September 17th. This will allow our team to review the latest recommendations, deep-clean areas, and build revised plans for moving forward.
We apologize for the short notice and thank you for your ongoing support to provide the safest possible learning environments for all students.
Out of an abundance of caution, Great Oaks 8th grade will go completely virtual until Tuesday, September 21st. 8th graders should not report to the CEB until Monday. Students with devices at home are asked to log in to Zoom links, which will be provided.
This is due to a presumptive positive case with multiple close contacts.
All other grades should please report to school as normal on Wednesday, September 15th.
We believe that success is achievable for every child. We provide high-quality, college-preparatory education for students in middle and high school. We supplement academics with a unique youth mentoring model and a diverse set of after school enrichment programs. Great Oaks – Wilmington is building tomorrow’s leaders. We love our community. Come join us!

What Sets Us Apart
We believe every child needs a champion—a mentor. In addition to regular classroom instruction, our team focuses on building formative relationships with each individual student. In our middle school, students receive high-dosage tutoring from our Great Oaks Fellows, a dynamic group of recent college graduates and aspiring educators who dedicate a year of service to the Wilmington community. As they grow into young adults, we connect our students with leaders and mentors in their community. As champions, we strive to provide guided support for students to envision their future, navigate their journey, and achieve their dreams.

Building Relationships In Delaware Grows Everyone
We are community-focused with a dream to build a bridge between our school and the Delaware community; we aim to help everyone grow by empowering our students to be the change they want to see in their communities. One way we do this is by encouraging our students to take ownership of projects that solve problems in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, food drives, clothing drives, and more.
Join Our Family Tree
Our mission is to create a safe, effective, and innovative learning environment that enables each individual to reach their greatest potential through a high dosage of mentorship. At Great Oaks, we are a family. Let’s grow together.
